29. April 2020 – At its meeting on 22 April 2020, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) informed the Federal Council that keeping a safe distance and washing hands remain the most effective protective measures. Based on this recommendation the Federal Council has decided against a general obligation to wear a mask.
