12. August 2021 – The electronic patient dossier (EPD) is intended to strengthen the quality of medical treatment, improve treatment processes, enhance patient safety and increase the efficiency of the healthcare system. The Federal Council therefore wants to specifically promote the dissemination and use of the EPD. In its report adopted at the meeting of 11 August 2021, it proposes a series of measures. For example, it is proposed to enable a central repository for data that can change quickly and should be available as completely as possible, such as in the case of medication.
