21. Juni 2024 – On 1 July 2024, various changes to the Ordinance on Healthcare Benefits (Krankenpflege-Leistungsverordnung, KLV) will come into force. The newborn screening will be extended to include the disease spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Through this screening, SMA can be diagnosed and treated early, which promises better treatment outcomes. The amendment to the KLV also entails changes to the reimbursement system for Covid-19 vaccinations and artificial nutrition. Furthermore, adjustments were made to the annexes.
