5. Mai 2021 – The introduction of a target in the compulsory health insurance (OKP) is a central measure to curb cost growth in the OKP. At its meeting on 28 April 2021, the Federal Council decided to separate it from the second package and to use it as the sole indirect counter-proposal to the popular initiative "For lower premiums - cost brake in healthcare (cost brake initiative)" of the party "die Mitte".
