5. Mai 2022 – Due to a security flaw, the organ donation foundation Swisstransplant had to close its online donor register in January. Any person could be improperly registered as an organ donor by others. The donor register will only be accessible again once a registration process that meets the highest security requirements has been implemented and once it has been approved by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). The closure of the register comes at the worst possible time, as the topic of organ donation is currently much discussed due to the upcoming vote on the Transplantation Act.
